The Kitchen

Having a new kitchen - how fabulous! No more wonky cupboards, skanky, manky cooker, laminate floor that was shoddily put down! After 4-5 days hard graft we have come a long way! A fair way still to go, but it looks so much better aleady, I am sure you will agree!

The kitchen - don't you love the blue tiles (bathroom surely?!?), lilacy/purple walls (which didn't match the wallpaper the the dining area of the room, manky non-working cooker, drippy taps....I could go on!!

What no kitchen?!?!
We almost kept the floor tiles...except they didn't go right through the room properly!

Already an improvement I think!

New floor! It took 4 people almost a day to put it down!!
Looks lovely though!!! :o)

The kitchen so far...
The cupboard on the floor (bottom left) will go top right, once the extractor fan arrives. Also waiting for our magic corner (an at the cost it was, it better be magic - I expect it to cook and clean for that money!!), work surfaces and upstands. Nice new cooker too (thanks mum!) Even though it isn't finished it is bliss!!

Thanks to C&S for all there help! Much appreciated.

Plumb-tastic!

Carl had a busy half term doing a bit of DIY, plumbing to be exact.

He did a fab job, moving the 3 upstairs bedroom radiators to under the windows.

Check out his handiwork!

The Study...

The master bedroom...

The spare room...

Of course, we put the floorboards back and the carpet down again and it is all spiffing! The main nightmare was that the 'floorboards' weren't the usual kind, they basically covered the whole floor, going under walls too, so we had to cut our own out! Fun!!

The Things Kids say...

OK...a few jems I've heard over the last term...

"How do tigers lay eggs?"

"Your lungs are here (pointing at neck and wiggling fingers) see, you can see them moving (more wiggling fingers!)"

"What's a virgin?" (when talking about the christmas story...I avoided this one quite well!)

Child 1: Where do babies come out?
Child 2: Out of your tummy (child draws a line across tummy caesarian style)
Me: I don't think Baby Jesus was born quite like that.
Child 3: Babies come out the hole here! (Child sticks legs in the air and points manically!)

How you make babies:
Take a hair from each family, put in in a glass of milk and add a strawberry!

The garden...again

The garden - it was getting a bit dark....

Hall, Stairs and Landing

Our new carpet! Very Beige!! It makes the hall look much bigger. It's all gone a bit house-doctor really!!
